It's better to fail at something you believe in than succeed at something you don't.
About Me:
Au naturale creative minimalist.
Married to a FAMUan Rattler.
Three gorgeous -and- gifted children ages 10, 7 and 6; girl boy girl.
I resigned from my middle school teaching profession, after four years on, six years off as a stay-at-home-wife-and-mother (during which time I founded and presided over an organization for Black SAHM; edited a newsletter for the organization and freelanced for a local charter school's newsletter, as well as ghostwriting for several online publications), two years back on again as someome who obviously didn't learn her lesson the first damn time she taught! I was on the verge of landing my ass --in some women's correctional facility or the 5:00 news-- behind them disrespectful crack-for-brain-ass-kids and they' mommas too. So just two weeks before this 2007- 2008 school term was to begin, I. Quit. That. Bitch.
I haven't looked back since....
Remember in that science 'elective' class, when you learned about the caterpillar and the process of metamorphosis? Well, I'm in the cocoon stage, on my way to becoming something new....
Delving into my options: taking on the daunting task of starting a nonprofit organization, graduate school degree-seeker from the University of Central Florida, publishing a book, completing (my) portion of a collaborative book effort that was due, like, yesterday if-I-want-to-get-paid, keeping up with my "other" website, to mention a few irons in the fire... It's the "Movement".
Praying that my faith don't fail me now.
And what seems like crazy on any given day because this truly isn't the life I ordered, I wouldn't trade the ups and downs of it all because of lessons learned...
You see me now...
Clearly, I'm like 't' rap with soccer mom transportation...

I'm a human potential engineer. (Read: woman, wife, mother, daughter, teacher, counselor, friend.) Not necessarily in that order...
Congrats on making moves and creating a movement!! I enjoyed reading your profile, you are a smart, funny, empowered woman, in a word you ROCK! Keep up the HUSTLE!
One Miami native describes it/him, "When I first met him, his love column was email based, then as time went on, he switched to having a blog. Then he got an official website and then he got real design work done on it and then he added his own video show to the site and then he added a comedy sketch series to it and then he added celebrity guests and now he has his own line of apparrel.
Do you get it?
PROGRESS BABY! PROGRESS!"
That's definitely what's up... I get no kickback on the plug, but when I hear of movement I can't keep that to myself.
