Excerpt from the book-

"For decades, projects have dealt with the elements outside and theoretically survived the problematic lives of people inside. Although they should have become a sanctuary of hope, they were soon labeled high-rise ghettos of despair and a breeding ground for everything that could go wrong.

These short stories, of fictional content, will show how they're able to mysteriously defy the worst.…

HTDSTUDIO DESIGNOFFICE ON VIEW AT HMoMA MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
New York, June 23, 2008 - HTDSTUDIO DESIGNOFFICE™ is part of the current exhibition 'Venice Biennale New Australian Pavilion | Di Stasio Ideas Competition', opening at the Heide Museum of Modern Art in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, June 28th until August 3rd, 2008.

For more info:

www.htdstudio.net/distasio
www.heide.com.au

A long-running campaign to showcase Australian architecture and encourage the replacement of the aging Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale has been reactivated with Venice Biennale New Australian Pavilion: Di Stasio Ideas Competition.

In an open competition, conceived to add momentum to growing support for the replacement of the current building, architects were invited to submit a conceptual proposal of their vision for a new Australian Pavilion. The nonrestrictive nature of the project has encouraged some radical architectural solutions and aims to excite the imagination of both the public and the authorities.

The shortlisted and winning proposals will be exhibited at Heide Museum of Modern Art on digital screens, housed in a
free-standing triangulated structure.

HTDSTUDIO DESIGNOFFICE™ is an international, multidisciplinary practice with locations in New York City and Cork, Ireland. Founded in 1999, their mission is to bring innovative value added design excellence to architectural, interior, furniture, and industrial and graphic design projects. Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School, Financial Women’s Association, Edward Waters College, Nonprofit Finance Fund, RH Fashion Iconic LLC, Sabre88 LLC and numerous other organizations, corporations and private residential clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
